The Screech

Through the years while investigating in various locations and places across the country, the team has captured a distinct screech and breath sound. It sounds like the same noise on different cameras and audio recorders. Therefore, we cannot simply describe it as a mechanical noise from one piece of equipment. When we are present, the sound has been captured as both an EVP (not heard by the team) and in real time.

We captured the first screech back in June 2009 at Waverly Hills and mostly recently in May 2024 at Waverly Hills in Louisville, KY. We have captured it 33 times!  

We have also combined the screech throughout the years into long and short versions below to listen to them all together in the same clip. In the long clip, the screeches are all looped together including any communication among the team. We do realize that some of the "screeches" sound a little different, but a lot of them are eerily similar. 

In the shorter version, it is all the "screeches" captured over the years without other audio from the team in-between.
