Created by Craig Telesha
Our friend and extremely smart tech guru from Pennsylvania, Craig Telesha, decided to create a device to use for Estes Method experiments. He lovingly called it the Paranormal Research Instrumental Communication device, or P.R.I.C., for short.
In Craig’s words, “The P.R.I.C. is a specialized ghost box created for Nicole and Lisa to complement the Estes Method of spirit communication. It’s based on the original ghost box, or Frank’s Box, created back in the early 2000s by a gentleman named Frank Sumption. Frank’s design is a souped-up version of the radio static method first made popular by Constantine Raudive.
Frank’s version scanned through the radio band at a preset interval instead of being tuned to a blank station for just white noise. Any spirit communication is to be heard above the scanned frequencies free and clear of the various radio stations that might be heard. Frank had various options which allowed the box to either scan back and forth across the radio band, scan only in one direction then recycle, or random frequency scan. Most of his creations were based on parts of old car stereos and some custom circuity of his design.”
Recreating Frank’s design with newer technology allowed Craig to create a nice small package powered by lithium-ion batteries with some extra features specifically for the Estes Method. In the spirit of Frank’s original design, Craig wanted to improve the scan methods, including the random radio frequencies.
The P.R.I.C. is designed to record both sides of the Estes communication using a small stereo recorder connected to the left channel for audio in the room and the right channel to record what is heard from the scanned stations. After the session, the recording can be played back to hear both sides of the session simultaneously.
Feel free to contact Craig, who has written the book, Strange Frequencies, which provides the real science behind ghost research and offers a wealth of information on the uses of a wide variety of equipment. Craig also maintains the website: Ghost-Tech, www.ghost-tech.com.
Used for the first time at Mineral Springs Hotel in the Pool Area in June 2022.
